Jharkhand is planning to increase its intake capacity in technical educational institutes from 14,000 to 65,000 per annum during 2012-17. Similarly, the state is projected to increase its intake capacity of the vocational training institutes from 1 lakh to13 lakhs during the same period. The Plan also envisages the addition of 75 new technical universities/institutes, and 101 diploma institutes by end of 2017.
